The Mission of the Career & Technical Education Department is to develop technologically literate citizens by providing students with a series of courses that emphasize the use of critical thinking, hands-on experiences and computer applications to solve real world problems.

The philosophy of the Career & Technical Education Department is that students need to be self-directed, active learners capable of using technology as a creative tool. Students develop technology based knowledge and skills as they participate in a variety of problem solving experiences which use hands-on activities to explore a range of activities in business practices, child development, technology education and career exploration. Career and Technical Education courses are designed to teach students how to understand, use and control technology in a variety of disciplines. The program develops technological literacy by informing students about current technologies and their implications for the future.
