Mission Statement

  • Orchard Hill School consists of a partnership among the school staff, students, parents and community members.
  • We believe that each has a responsibility to the others to foster and maintain a caring environment that is based on high standards, respect and good will.
  • This educational community sets the foundation for life-long learning and future success.

Our wonderful students here at Orchard Hill Elementary School will have a successful year of learning.  The staff has worked hard to build community in the classroom and throughout our school utilizing the Tribes process and the Four Agreements: Mutual Respect, Attentive Listening, Participation/Right to Pass, and Appreciation/No Put Downs.

Building community within our school provides the foundation for all students to experience success.  Our classrooms are positive, risk-free, learning environments in which every student’s needs are met.  One of our main areas of focus this year is to increase all students’ literacy achievement.  Parents can help us with this by always finding the time to read with their child - and even asking questions  while they read such as:
What did this story remind you of? What might happen next? What do you think was the most important part  of the story? Why?  Having this home/school partnership is essential and benefits parents, teachers and, most importantly,—the students!
