Registration Information

First and foremost, welcome to the South Windsor Public Schools!

Registration materials are available at each of the seven schools across the district (these materials cannot be made available on line). Some materials contained in the registration packets are school-specific; therefore, it is essential that the registration process begin at the school that serves your residential area.  Please visit Elementary School Districts (under the Parents menu) on the South Windsor Public Schools website to determine school boundary information.   The school administrative secretary at each school will be happy to assist you through the registration process.

Registration for enrollment in the South Windsor Public Schools is based on proof of residency.

In order to show proof of residency within the town of South Windsor, at least three of the items listed below must be provided.  The name and address must appear clearly on all documentation provided.

  • A driver’s license and automobile registration will be accepted as one item.  (A driver’s license alone is not acceptable as one form of proof of residency.)  A driver’s license with a sticker on the back with a hand-written address will not be accepted.
  • A current electric bill
  • A current phone bill
  • A current gas/oil bill
  • Evidence of home ownership, such as a mortgage statement or homeowner’s insurance bill
  • A current rental lease agreement

Guardians, relatives (other than parents), or nonrelatives with whom children reside in the town of South Windsor will be required to complete an affidavit, which can be obtained from the elementary school offices or the middle school or high school guidance offices.  Additional forms may be required.

In some cases, claims of residency may be subject to police investigation.  A claim of residency under false pretenses is subject to arrest and prosecution.  If a residency violation occurs after enrollment, the student will be disenrolled.

If you have any questions about this process please contact the human resources office at 860-291-1215.  We hope your child is looking forward to his or her educational experience.
