CALENDAR OF EVENTS 2016-2017
October 6: 6-8 Parent Programs ~ 7:00pm. 6th grade location: cafeteria, 7th grade location: common area B (second floor), 8th grade: ALT 6.

October 19: Unity Day; Students will view a presentation by Camfel productions
October 27: Open House at Cheney Technical High School- 6:00-8:00pm
November 2: 8th grade Family Curriculum Night at SWHS for parents- 6:30-8:00pm
November 4: Career Day for 7th Graders. Members of the community will speak about various career options. Students will also hear from Howell Cheney Technical High School and South Windsor High School
November 4: Cheney Tech counselor to meet with students who are interested in a technical high school. 9:00 in main office. Please sign up in the counseling office.
December 15: Deadline for Cheney Tech and Technical High school applications
January 4: 8th grade Parent Program on course selection at SWHS- 5:00-6:00pm
January 6 (Cobalt), 9 (Indigo), 13 (Pacific): SWHS to present course slection lesson and program of studies booklets to 8th graders in classroom setting- one team per day
February 8: Level recommendations sent home with all 8th graders. Also included are permission slips for high school tours and course selection worksheets. Worksheets and permission slips must be returned.
February 22 (Pacific), February 23 (Indigo), February 24 (Cobalt): Tours of SWHS for 8th graders- one team per day- 8:30-10:30am. Students will enter course requests into the computer
March 24: Last day for any level change requests
May 8: 8th graders receive schedule from SWHS; any elective changes must be made by last day of school. Also included will be a flyer with the 9th grade summer orientation date.

Suicide Prevention Support- information from the CT Suicide Prevention Program. Includes information, supports and valuable resources for students and families.
Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services (EMPS)- emergency support and help to support children who are suffering from a behavioral or mental health crisis.
