Mock Crash exercise april 16, 2014

Dear South Windsor Residents,

The South Windsor Police Department, in conjunction with the South Windsor Fire Department, South Windsor Ambulance Corps and the South Windsor Board of Education, will be conducting a mock car crash and response exercise on April 16, 2014. The following road closures will be in effect during the exercise:

Collins Crossing will be closed to thru traffic from approximately 11:45 am until 1:30 pm. Hunter Drive will remain accessible.

Nevers Road will be closed from Sand Hill Road to the Community Center from approximately 11:45 am until 1:30 pm.

Access to the Community Center will be available from Ayers Road.

During the closures, local residents will have access to their driveways as needed. For safety reasons, including the potential of a Lifestar helicopter landing, additional alternative closing may occur during the event.

Parents of young children are advised that the exercise will utilize role players purporting to be injured parties, and it may be disturbing to some spectators.

Any questions or concerns can be directed to Agt. Brian Eckblom at 860-648-6339, the Police Department at 860-644-2551, or the High School office at 860-648-5000.

Very truly yours,

Matthew D. Reed
Chief of Police
