SchoolMessenger™ is an electronic message system that is utilized by the South Windsor Public Schools district to provide parents/guardians with important and timely information.
What are the advantages of including an e‐mail address in my School Messenger profile?
In our efforts to go green, many communications are now being sent to parents via e-mail rather than through the postal system. E‐mail messages are received immediately upon launching the School Messenger communication. Additionally, for any communications that are sent out through voicemail distribution, by selecting the E‐mail option, e-mail messages contain a link with a recording of the message heard through the telephone. Additionally, if you miss a telephone call or don’t understand the School Messenger recording, it can be replayed at your convenience or forwarded to another recipient.
How do I add e-mail to my existing profile?
- If you have an existing School Messenger profile, logon to the site as indicated above
- Click on the “Contacts” tab
- On the right hand side under “Actions,” click on the “Edit” button
- Once your Contract Preferences page displays, simply type in your email address(es), and hit SAVE before exiting to retain your changes. (Note: you can include up to two emails per child)
What if I have forgotten my password?
If you have forgotten your password, you can logon to School Messenger, enter your e-mail address, and then click on the “Forgot My Password” link. A new password will be sent to you at the email address on file.
What if I never established or am not sure if I have a School Messenger profile?
New students are given a School Messenger profile sheet when they register at a South Windsor School. Once this information is processed and the student has been assigned a student ID, parents are contacted by mail with log-in and password information to customize their profile. The log-in expires within 30 days so you must set up your profile upon receipt. It’s also important that you retain this information for future reference.
If you are not sure whether you have a School Messenger profile, we recommend that first you try to logon to School Messenger, enter your email address, and then click on the “Forgot My Password” link. A new password will be sent to you at the email address on file.
If the system does not recognize your email address, then you can request a new School Messenger account by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Please include the following information in your email:
- Student’s Name
- Parent/Guardian Name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Student ID (if known)
