A Graduate's Journey From South Windsor to Shark Tank
On Tuesday, February 25th, South Windsor native and Class of 2018 alumnus, Luke St. Amand, returned home to share his journey - from struggling in science class to earning a full-tuition scholarship, working as an engineer at Amazon, and eventually co-founding Lectec, a startup that landed him on Shark Tank.

During his visit, Luke spoke at Timothy Edwards Middle School and South Windsor High School, inspiring students with his story of perseverance, discovery, and entrepreneurship. He also presented to the Board of Education, discussing how hands-on STEM education can shape the next generation of engineers.

Luke’s message is simple: one experience can change everything. After nearly giving up on STEM, a single moment - learning to code during the pandemic - completely reshaped his career. Now, through Lectec, he’s working to bring that same transformative experience to students across the country.
Congratulations on all of your success, Luke, and thank you for returning to South Windsor to share your story!
