NASA Astronaut and SWPS Alumnus, Jack Hathaway, Speaks Live from Space, with SWHS Students
NASA astronaut Jack Hathaway, a proud 2000 graduate of SWHS, is one of four crew members on NASA’s SpaceX Crew-12 mission that boarded the ISS in February, for a science expedition.
Hathaway conducted a real-time interaction with SWHS students as part of a "Crew Choice" event. This unique session allowed the students to connect with, and ask questions directly of, a South Windsor hometown hero while he orbits the Earth, bridging the gap between classrooms and the frontiers of space exploration.
Governor Lamont was able to attend this event and addressed the students in the auditorium before the livestream. Click the following link to hear Governor Lamont’s remarks and to view the historical real-time interaction: NASA Livestream Link
Thank you to everyone who had a role in planning this event, to those who participated in the event, and to all who attended the event.
It was a truly special day!
