South Windsor is a diverse community of nearly 27,000 citizens and 5,000 students in grades PK-12. The district values this diversity and has worked to create a districtwide culture of equity and social consciousness. South Windsor Public Schools is comprised of four elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-8), and one high school (9-12), all of which cultivate and support culturally responsive classrooms and learning communities.
While most Connecticut towns have generally experienced flat or declining enrollment over the past decade, South Windsor
has been an outlier in that trend and is now among the fastest growing K-12 districts in the state of Connecticut.
In alignment with our Portrait of a Graduate and 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, the South Windsor Public Schools promote an engaging and dynamic culture of learning that prepares students to achieve their own individual excellence. Within an emotionally safe environment, educators will foster students' academic, social and personal growth. Our students will demonstrate critical and creative thinking, self-direction, collaboration, adaptability, kindness, compassion and civic responsibility. The South Windsor Public Schools graduate will possess a learner's mindset, exhibit resilience and social consciousness and be empowered to participate in an ever-changing global society.
