AI will never replace human judgment, classroom teachers, or relational learning. Educators remain fully responsible for instructional decisions and student evaluation.

We use AI to encourage curiosity, critical analysis, and self-awareness. Students learn to question AI outputs, check for accuracy, and take true ownership of their learning.

All tools used in our classrooms must comply with Connecticut Student Data Privacy Laws and FERPA.

Connecticut law and district policy require strict protection of student Personally Identifiable Information (PII). South Windsor Public Schools maintains a vetted application ecosystem. Below are the three AI tools currently approved for staff use and, under teacher direction, student use.

| Google Gemini is a district-approved conversational AI tool operating within our secure Google Workspace for Education environment. It allows teachers and students to brainstorm, draft, and solve problems while ensuring student data remains fully protected and compliant with state and federal privacy laws. |
